Kid-Created Video Contest (KCVC) 2011-12

RULES

 

The MMOC is sponsoring a contest that asks City of Milwaukee Kids to create a short electronic file video which best answers the question – What’s so special about Milwaukee? 

The video submissions will be judged February 9th of 2012 to determine which videos meet all of the listed criteria while delivering a positive message about Milwaukee; with the ultimate goal of choosing the top three for prize money.  Note: Each submitted video receives special recognition just for entering!

Prizes:                First place = $ 300.00 ~ Second Place = $ 150.00 ~ Third Place = $ 75.00

Topic:                 What’s so special about Milwaukee?

Media:                 Electronic video file transferred to *USB drive.

Length:               Four minute maximum. (Excluding title and end credits)

Rules:                  KCVC Videos must visibly incorporate the MMOC Optimist Club Logo somewhere in the finished product (within the main body of the piece) for no shorter than 15 seconds in one continuous shot. (IE: It could be seen on a park bench, side of a bus, on a shirt, painted on the wall, background, foreground, etc.) Be creative.  The logo is found at the following web address: http://www.MMOC.biz/MMOC_Logos.html

The KCVC video must include (at least one) scene from the City of Milwaukee proper.

All KCVC videos must have both a TITLE and END CREDITS including the following sentence (in either one): “Kid-Created Video Contest sponsored by the Metro Milwaukee Optimist Club (MMOC) – Bringing out the Best in Kids”.

No KCVC video shall contain commonly objectionable language or subject material.

KCVC video narration can be in a language other than English, however if done so, sub titles must be included for easy interpretation.

KCVC videos intended for the contest are not to be uploaded by the entrant onto YouTube® or any other Internet-based video site before judging has concluded.  If a submitted video is verified as an Internet upload prior to the end of the contest it shall be disqualified.

Only kids who currently attending any Milwaukee city (as defined by a 2011 City of Milwaukee city limits boundary map) public, parochial, private, etc. school are eligible to participate.  “Teams, classes, and entire schools” are eligible; however the prize money does not increase with additional team members on any winning submission.

The deadline for submitting any KCVC video is January 12, 2012.   KCVC videos copied onto USB drives must be MAILED to the:  MMOC – 6317A W. Fairview Avenue – Milwaukee, WI  53213 ~ *Note: USB device drives will not be returned to the submitter unless requested.  If a student has need for a USB drive for the purposes of this contest; one may be loaned upon request from the MMOC.

Judging to take place February 9th 2012; with the winners being notified via US mail.  Prize money will be issued to the winners in the form of an MMOC club check.

All videos become the property of the MMOC and furthermore reserve the rights to any submitted video.  Winning videos will be posted to the MMOC website for international Internet viewing.  These videos may become a tool for interested attendees for the upcoming Optimist International Convention to be held in Milwaukee – July 2012.
