Meeting
the needs of young people in communities worldwide, Optimist Clubs have been
“Bringing Out the Best in Kids” since 1919.
Optimist International is an
association of more than 3,000 Optimist Clubs around the world.
Adult volunteers join Optimist Clubs to conduct positive service projects in their communities aimed at providing a helping hand to youth. With their upbeat attitude, Optimist Club members help empower young people to be the best that they can be. Each Optimist Club determines the needs of the young people in its community and conducts programs to meet those needs. conduct 65,000 service projects and serve well over six million young people.
About US - The MMOC
Milwaukee has a history of Optimist involvement with a successful chapter which was actively involved with the local youth, in fact that Club hosted the 1924 Optimist Convention in Milwaukee. There has not been a Milwaukee Club for some years until NOW. With the newly organized MMOC we are revitalizing a strong membership in preparation for the honor of hosting the Optimist International Convention in 2012!
